You simply cannot have a tequila shot without lime. You can forgo the salt if you want (although that's sacrilege too) but the lime is part of the show. So if your friend is the life/lime of the party, this is the card for them. They're sweet, a bit sour sometimes and go really well with tequila. They also enjoy a little squeeze...
